So we're doing this...

Since starting an Instagram account on a whim 2 years ago, I've felt myself transform. Over two years ago, I took a leap and pushed away my self doubt to create a 'safe space'. In all honesty, I really just wanted a clean slate. An IG with a feed I could curate to be inspirational and full of pretty things. A little corner of social media that was all interiors and beautiful scenes... not wedding and baby photos (no offense). I didn't know what I was doing but I knew that I was drawn to beauty and wanted to share and learn from it.
It feels like time has flown by and bit by bit, I've become more comfortable with my identity as Acacia Abodes. It took a while to not feel silly or forced. No longer an alter-ego or a poser, but making this my reality. I've invested endless hours into all aspects of the tiny boxes on social media, but that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface when it comes to behind the scenes. Read countless design courses, books upon books, scrolling, reading, connecting and experimenting - absorbing like a sponge... has led me here.
Where is here? An actual place that is all my own. A living breathing artifact to represent my journey, brand and hopefully future. I so appreciate you being here as I make it a reality. I've been so fortunate over the last two years to make connections with such supportive friends. Some of which have asked for my advice in making their homes more special, leading to opportunities to grow my brand and an evolving business.
At times we can all be discouraged when something you begin doesn't take hold as quickly as you want. I've watched other Instagram accounts grow rapidly and I've steadily puttered along - happy for them but questioning if I was doing something wrong. The truth is, authenticity is all I need. I've always been true to what I'm drawn to and love. I hope that emanates through the content I produce, the spaces I design and the connections we share.
So, I'm investing even more in myself and plan to grow acaciaabodes.com as a resource for all of you but also for ME! She's a work in progress right now - but aren't we all?

Congratulations on taking the next step! Meghan told me about your IG account a few months ago and I have thoroughly enjoyed following you since then. Your photos are so beautiful and peaceful and I absolutely love the beautiful interiors you have curated. You have a gift! 💖
